Pennisetum Polystachion

P. polystachion is an erect perennial grass with extensive and fibrous roots to a depth of 1 m. This ornamental grass is very popular as it can stand heat, drought even salt. Mission grass has a upright to arching clumps. From mid summer to fall it produces long, dropping plumes or flowers. It grows best in full sun and with a bit of irrigation. Perfect for borders. Not suceptible to pests and diseases but it can be invasive.
