Bougainvillea glabra is an evergreen shrubby vine with spiny branches. The flowers are small cream color found in the center of 3 coloured bracts.Culture and hardiness is species dependent, but most bougainvilleas prefer sunny, warm conditions and require very well-drained soil. They tend to be drought tolerant, but look best with occasional applications of water.Bougainvillea may be planted as free-standing specimens, hedges, trailing vines or groundcover plants. Famous in coastal areas specially on the Mediterranean. Can be invasive if grown in the proper conditions, and little pruning is needed to maintain its structure. Not suceptible to pests and diseases.
