A dwarf, evergreen, tropical shrub with large, heart-shaped leaves with decorative perforations that develop early on new foliage. Prefers bright or filtered light indoors, or a warm, sheltered position outdoors, in well drained soil.It is recommended to keep moist but not over-water, especially in winter as this can lead to the stems and roots rotting. It is actually a climber, using its aerial roots in its native rain forests to scale to enormous (monstrous) heights. Grown indoors it needs space and looks great in a hallway, conservatory or a corner of a modern living space. Monstera deliciosa is easy to care for so long as it has moist, warm conditions.
