Parlor palm is a small indoor palm native to the rainforest regions of Guatemala and Mexico .The stem can reach 1.5 m tall. It has a dark pinnately compound leaf. In the warmth of late spring, tiny yellow flowers are borne on a branched stem that reach just beyond the fronds followed by a red, black berries. Grows best in partial shade or shade. Could be planted out in warm region. The plant cannot stand drought or salt. Provide it with well-drained, humus-rich soil that is not highly alkaline. Under low humidity the top of the leaves will get yellow. The whole plant contains calcium oxalate crystals and there may be health concerns with the ingestion or handling them that's why we recommend to have them away from children and pets. Used indoor as a specimen, and in container plantation.
