Agave americana

The century plant is a succulent that has large leaves that can reaching a height of 6 meters. The leaves are green or blue green, and they have spiky margins, that's why we don't recommend it next to pets . During summer, they produce yellow fragrant flowers that attract birds and bats. It flowers once after 10 years or more. The plant dies after blooming. American agave is a heat and drought tolerant plant. It requires full sun, and well drained, poor soils to grow. Requires very little maintenance, and is an invasive species.
